Founder Karen Dash is an award-winning program analyst with 20+ years of experience in academic, government, and corporate settings. She offers leadership expertise in innovative and strategic management of resources and programs. Ms. Dash brings a proven track record of synthesizing complex information to create program evaluations, research designs, business models, and training programs tailored to a variety of audiences. She is the published author of over 15 consumer business articles, co-author of five insurance industry white papers, and a two-time winner of the American Express Chairman's Award for Quality.
As the Director of Institutional Research and Extended programs at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, a campus of the University of North Carolina, Ms. Dash has evaluated numerous academic programs and initiatives, including grant-funded programs. Her innovative research has ranged from defining, measuring, and nurturing student achievement to conducting environmental scans of the strategic planning environment.
In her consulting capacity, Ms. Dash has evaluated programs at Duke University designed to promote college to children from underprivileged families; and conducted a feasibility study for a Washington, DC-area school seeking to develop a Science Technology Engineering Math Entrepreneurial (STEM-e) program. She has also evaluated numerous program proposals for the US Department of Education.
Her previous work in the nonprofit sector identified factors leading to institutional success, including that of a homeless shelter run by Columbia University.
In all her work, Ms. Dash brings a passion for opening opportunities to people from all backgrounds, with a special emphasis on issues related to promoting Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) skills and talent. Her educational background includes a bachelors degree from Harvard University and a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University.
